In 2017, we opened our new sea gravel plant at the Hansakai in Cuxhaven. This enabled us to expand our range of products with high-quality sea gravel from the area.
Breaking, screening, washing – our sea gravel pit works fully automated. Before that while still on the ship, the raw gravel is preconcentrated and drained for local concrete plants according to standard. Thanks to these highly efficient procedures our plant reaches a volume of 1,000 tons per shift. You can receive our gravel products by delivery to the requested location or pick them up yourself at our premises at the harbor – choose the method that suits you the best.
We excavate our premium sea gravel in the North Sea off the coast of Denmark. Our subsidiary SMT provides the modern required hopper dredger ships required for the gentle excavation of the gravel on the bottom of the sea. Afterwards, we break, wash and screen the gravel at our plant.
Our sea gravel is exceptionally suited for ambitious, concrete technology applications – e.g., construction of foundations for wind power stations, cast-in-situ piles or projects with long concrete supply lines. SMT’s fleet of river barges and coasters helps us with the gravel supply and disposal for islands and difficult-to-access harbors. Operating the first sustainable sea gravel plant in Germany meets our self-imposed requirement for eco-friendly excavation and the conservation of natural resources.
